Working at TBWA

So, I've had plenty to do the last weeks, after being hired by TBWA\Oslo during the summer. Shortly before summer vacation, Remi did this great illustration for our client Smartfish.

Then last week we did some more fun stuff for a new Ultra grocery store opening in Drammen. We made their logo in styrofoam, each letter about 5 meters tall, and placed it on a barge going up and down the river in Drammen downtown. Then Saturday there was also a fireworks display! :D

For the rest theres plenty to do, but it's fun and people here are enthusiastic.

So, Tonje, my girlfriend, and I have started working together on a project. We've started making "softies", little stuffed toys. Let me introduce you to our firstborn, Bob, who we are taking on a tour of Paris:

A day off..

So, I had today off. Well, almost. And I was reading through some blogs and stumbled upon yet another one of those vectorize / vexelize tutorials. I figured, since I haven't tried that a lot, I should play around a little. Just thought I'd share the result. :)

Moustache Mania

Okay, so for some reason my mind has been on moustaches a lot lately, and I've decided to do some short stories and illustrations using this as the theme. Above is the first one I've completed.

Identity for Golden Dragon

A little while back I worked on a new identity for a restaurant. Unfortunately the whole project was scrapped eventually, but I still thought I'd share it with anyone interested.

DesignFetish #1 - The signage issue

Been working on a little magazine project on the side for a while now, and I just published it through Issuu a short while ago. No need for any long downloads of pdfs or anything, plus you can virtually flip through the pages. I love this service. Enjoy!

Magazine Spread

As one of those projects I just have lying around, waiting to be worked on and finished someday, there's a pdf-magazine I've been working on. It's about robots, sci-fi, and I'll probably throw in something about ray guns and other retro sci-fi stuff. Here's a spread I've worked on a little..

Another 2008scandinavia wallpaper

While the rest of the guys are out of office and I'm also sort of on vacation, I just couldn't keep my hands off some new stuff I've been wanting to try. Here's a new wallpaper, 1440x900px.

Glowing Pin up

Been working on some more posters theese past days, here's the result of one of 'em. Anyone recognize the gal I used? Well, she was in this really cool shoot for Vanity Fair. For some reason the photographer cut off an inch of her shoes, so I had so fix the image up a litte though.

Gullblyanten

Well, I guess I should have recovered from Gullblyanten by now("The Golden Pencil", Norway´s biggest and most important domestic creative award show). Erik won our internal bet, which
means we got two diplomas. One for the Teknograd campaign, and one for the website for Norli's Antique Books. Well, a lot could be said about the award show and the winners, but I won't delve into that here.. Anywho, it was nice to see some old pals, and to see our friends at Motion Blur get some well earned gold.

2008scandinavia tees

Here's a small collection of some t-shirt prints I've been working on for 2008scandinavia. Obviously I've mostly been working by hand, to give it a distinct look and feel. I wanted to give them a personal, individual feel. Really looking forward to getting some shirts printed so we start handing them out to our friends. :)

A good month

It's been a nice month for us at 2008scandinavia with all the press coverage
we've gotten in norwegian magazines. We're featured in a three-page interview in Kapital and we have our Teknograd-campaign featured in Kreativt Forum. In addition we won an award called Ut-prisen for the best outdoors-campaign in january with our boards made completely out of Lego for Lego's 50th anniversary.

Just in time for Valentines...

Well, as my gf and I have three pet rats ourselves, I thought this would be a fitting motive for a card for today. Happy Valentines!

2008scandinavia wallpapers

Thought I'd post a couple of wallpapers I've put together here at work. The first one is made in Lego. Or, at least, virtually built in Lego. On the second one I played around a bit with the typography, 3D-effects and some bright colors. For the third I used some tricks I learned from the great guys at PSDTuts together with my illustration where I played around with one of the 2008 logos.

Cover (work in progress)

Been checking out some of Von Glitschka's great tutorials over at Illustration Class. That got me going, making an illustration based on a more or less random image I saved last night. So, here it is.

Dinosaur Illustration

Yet another illustration I've done on my spare time. Inked the lines with an old calligraphy nib and added some scanned old bookcovers I found in the basement at home for colors.

Teknograd Campaign

I haven't been posting anything for a while now, but there's been plenty to do. This is a little taste of the stuff we've been doing at 2008scandinavia.

This is a campaign we've been working on for a while, for a mac support company called Teknograd. The first one will be featured in the next issue of Kampanje, a magazine for the advertising industry here in Norway. There will also be an interview with my colleagues and bosses, Øistein Borge and Erik Heisholt.
