Signage Fanzine

On my spare time I've been working on this fanzine in honor of one of my favorite subjects; Signage. I've been to Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco this summer, which are goldmines when it comes to signage. =) This is still work in progress though, but here are some of the spreads that are more or less finished.

ABN Annual Report

So, finally I bring you the photos of the last project I worked on at Studio3 this summer. This was an annual report for a big company dealing with education, real estate and recycling. We hired a great professional photographer but did all the rest ourselves. Really learned a lot from this, in almost every aspect. I wouldn't mind doing more stuff like this in the future.

La Familia Profile

We've been working on this project for a really long time, but finally its finished, and we're all pleased with the outcome. This is for a guy who makes chorizos and other spicy sausages, and he needed a complete profile including a website and everything.

Concept for my portfolio

As I'm out there looking for work, I need to go around showing my portfolio, and so I came up with a complete concept for it too. This came from some of my personal observations and ideas about this experience of constantly being on the move from place to place, showing people what "tricks" you know. Obviously its inspired by circus posters and design of the early 1900s.

Skulls Allover Print

So, schools almost over for me, and I've done some drawing now that I have more time to sit down with it. Here's a allover-print I made. Used pencil, inked on top of that, scanned and added color in photoshop. I'll be using these skulls some more I think. Maybe make some stickers and stuff like that.

Gullkalven Gold Award

Really sorry about this picture, but I mean, I won a gold award! I entered my two Far Coast murals in the illustration category of and won gold for one of them at Gullkalven 2007 (Student Award in Creative Communication). Tried to look very cocky posing for the picture, but I didn't really pull it off, hehe.

Musikkfest Oslo 2007

Long story short, we made a poster for a second year school project, and a year later they wanted to use it for real for their music festival!

Far Coast

I entered Far Coast's contest for a promotional mural on a huge wall on Majorstua in Oslo with these two. The second one won me a pretty respectable 3rd place in the contest :D No surprise the first one didn't win, but it was still very fun to make, hehe.

More shirts for Bastard Shirtco

Two more shirts I made for Bastard Shirtco.

Thunderpussy Flyer

Just played around in illustrator one night, making a flyer. Wanted to use DesignBum's stuff for something nice. He's got some really nice downloads people (you, designer-people) should check out.

Aftenposten Aguiden - Ads

Three full-page ads we made for Aftenposten, one of Norway's biggest newspapers. This was a really fun challenge for us, as we'd never done ads like this before. We didn't have any art directors or copywriters in our team, so had to act like we were.

OptimalPrint.com - Profile

Full profile for OptimalPrint, a new company printing businesscards, using the same concept as vistaprint.

Slipstream Skateboards

Three illustrated decks I made for Diabetic Skateboards, and the original robot illustration I made. The client wanted 80's inspired decks, so I used some of the memories I had of that period.

Bastard Shirtco Prints

Various shirts for Bastardshop.com

Humans Are Nice

A little twist on the ever popular human-in-animal-suit-illustrations.

Cannibal Islands

Yet another one of my cute and cuddly illustrations I put on mojizu.com

And a t-shirt print I made using the little cannibal.

Bob the Zombie Cat

One of my cute and cuddly illustrations :)

Oslo Museum

Three posters I made for my exam project in 2006. This was for Oslo Museum, three different museums covering the city's general history, theater history and cultural history. The exam also included logo and a full profile.

Kaada CD-cover

Digipack, CD and booklet designed for Kaada's album "Music for an imaginary film". The concept behind the album is creating the atmosphere of old Norwegian fairytales, especially inspired by the paintings of Th. Kittelsen. This was a really great assignment, we got to work together with the artist, and had Martin Kvamme as our teacher.

Above and below: spreads from inside the booklet.

J-Rock Festival 2006

Fictional poster for a J-Rock Festival featuring Japanese Rock Bands.

Tim Burtin Biography

I designed a biography on one of my favorite movie directors. This was mostly a typography assignment, to learn treatment of text and images.

Here are some of the spreads inside the book..

Norwegian Design Magazine

A magazine about music related design, including albums, psters, music videos and more. This issue was about Norwegian designers and design. Shown above is the cover.
School project from 2006.

Above is the contents page, where you can turn the big black disc to read the main featuring articles.

The magazine also includes some interviews I did with Martin Kvamme and Are Kleivan, they are made as folded posters you can tear out of the magazine.
